With the rapid development of mobile communication technology, the broadband and miniaturization of antenna is imperative under this situation. With 4G into millions of households, the research and design of mobile communication antenna with 2G/3G/4G standard coexistence seems more significant. And in the indoor mobile communication environment, omni-directional dual-polarized ceiling antennas are playing a very important role. Based on this background, this paper designs a sort of omni-directional dual-polarized ceiling antenna, which is miniaturized, and its horizontal and vertical polarization can both work in low frequency 806~960MHz band and high frequency 1700~2700MHz band.This paper describes the basic principle of antenna, and reviews some common broad-band antennas. Then this paper simulates beginning with horizontal and vertical polarization. Vertical polarization simulates three schemes about disk cone antenna, and selects the dielectric loaded disk cone antenna after comparison the performance parameters and structure features among them. Horizontal polarization simulates planar monopole circular array, dipole circular array and log-periodic circular array, and selects the dipole circular array and the log-periodic circular array after performance comparison. Finally, the paper designs two kinds of omni-directional dual-polarized ceiling antennas, according to the choices provided by each polarization. The paper compares the two antennas and draws a conclusion: the antenna’s performance parameters and size, which the dipole circular array is placed upon the dielectric loaded disk cone antenna, are better and more miniaturized.
