With the popularization of smart terminals, there is a higher request of people for wireless communication technology. As an important device of receiving and transmitting signal, antenna plays an important role in the field of communications. At the same time, because of busy communication services indoor, more and more designers are gradually to research the indoor antennas, and from the traditional literal indoor antennas to dual-polarized indoor antennas. Dual-polarized antenna mainly adopts the diversity technique of multiple antennas-MIMO(Multiple-Input Multiple-Output). The diversity technique of multiple antennas can change the coverage and the gain well of the antenna and improve the reliability of transmission system without increasing antenna transmission power. However, it can’t satisfy the need of miniaturization of indoor antenna. The small size of antenna is required, as well as the wide frequency band, higher data transfer rate and bigger coverage area. Considering the above requirements, this paper puts forward a kind of broadband dual-polarized indoor ceiling antenna. The dual-polarized antenna includes vertical polarization antenna and horizontal polarization antenna. And the technical indicators are the frequency band of vertical polarization is 860-960MHZ/1710-2635 MHZ, the frequency band of horizontal polarization is 1880-2635 MHZ. Besides, the antenna can be effectively used in 2G network, 3G network and LTE system. In the demand spectrum, the standing wave ratio VSWR < 2, isolation degree ISO≥30dB, also has omni-directional radiation characteristics and higher data transfer rate.At first, this paper summarizes the development history of communication system and the research status of dual-polarized indoor antennas at home and abroad, expounds some basic theory and characteristics of the antenna, then the design principle and design idea of the literal antenna are introduced according to the vertical polarization antenna and horizontal polarization antenna, and design the vertical polarization antenna and horizontal polarization antenna which meeting the requirements of paper on this basis. After the literal antenna design, this paper introduces three conventional ways about combination of vertical polarization antenna and horizontal polarization antenna, by comparing their advantages and disadvantages, works out a new way of the combination-vertical polarization antenna axis with horizontal polarization antenna. On the basis of feasibility analysis, makes a comprehensive simulation design and performance optimization. Finally, this paper produces the antenna prototype, the corresponding parameter measurement, completes the validation of the design results.
