The Automatic Test System Of Radio Equipment Based On High Frequency Technology

Currently, the HF (Very High Frequency) signal is used for two-way audiocommunications and other control operations between the flight crew and the ground basestation controllers when the aircraft is taking off, landing and flying through controllingairspace. The pilot is busy with processing problems when the aircraft is taking off or landing,and it’s very liable to accident, so the safety of the HF communication must be guaranteed. Soit is very important to test the HF avionics equipment.Usually, the manufacturer of HF avionics equipment provides the test system. However,the price of these test system is very expensive. And if the test system need update or addfunction, it will waste much money to buy the new test system and test program. The purposeof the project is to develop an automatic test system of radio equipment based on HighFrequency technology. The paper’s basis works include:1) Based on the research and analysis of the Automatic Test Technique, setting modelsof the Automatic Test System and applying them in the realization of the Automatic TestSystem.2) Fault tree analysis is usually used to the detection of equipment faults. Thecommunication of HF signal is based on the arinc429communication protocol. Through theresearch of the HF avionics equipment’s structure and function, applying the fault treeanalysis in the test requirement’s analysis, designing the test method.3) The paper develops the TPS basing on the ATS. Running the TPS and analyzing thetest result, the system’s function module design can be proved. After this, the paper tests thewhole system and proves the design’s whole function.At present, several HF Avionics equipments’ test program has been developed based onthe system, such as RMA-55B. The paper realizes a generic and automatic test system of HFavionics equipment. The test system can test a variety of HF avionics equipments and relievethe worker from the complex operation, which decrease the time, raise the efficiency andreduce the fault test result by the improper operation. The system runs steadily and the testresults are accurate.
