What can we do to achieve cost savings, extending the useful life, improve the quality of network operation and to maximize use of the existing network is the problem each operator concerned about. As the network operating and developing, system or veneer performance declines gradually, the performance parameters had in the threshold, Seriously impacts the operation of system, this paper is for the problem to optimize the Hohhot-Fengzhen DWDM(dense wavelength division multiplexing) system of Provincial Trunk for Inner Mongolia mobile.This paper firstly introduces the WDM(wavelength division multiplexing) technology, the DWDM technology, and the optical transmission system’s basic structure and working principle. The optical transmission theory Includes the optical fiber, optical transceiver, an optical multiplexer and optical amplifier principle. Secondly introduces the network composition and device characteristic, expounds the requirement and method of the optical transmission system, parameter definition and method of calculation. Finally analyses the safety, operation quality, business resources of the operation nearly10years of Huhhot-Fengzhen DWDM system of Provincial Trunk for Inner Mongolia mobile. In order to improve the operation quality, optimizes the corresponding network, improves transmission network of each operation index, prolongs the service life of the system. Through a period of observation, the network is running smoothly, system performance improves sharply, therefore, in this paper, the optimization scheme is reasonable and feasible.
