The mechanization and intelligentize in those industries which is harmful for human health such as painting are attracting more attention as a result of the higher awareness of health in recent years. Many automatic painting apparatus is designed such as the automatic paint spray for automobiles. However, those painting apparatus are mostly designed for industrial areas while currently there is no similar application in the field of household decoration. In view of the above, this paper introduces the design of an automatic painting apparatus specifically for the household decoration. The apparatus will be applied in the mixing of paint and the automatic painting, the functions of which have been verified under laboratory simulation. The hardware of the apparatus introduced in this paper is based on the design of components. The apparatus selected AT89series as its master control chip which allows the user to choose the hardware interface according to his requirements and thus reduce the development cost. As for the peripheral interface circuit, various devices are placed to protect the electrical circuit and improve the anti-interference ability under adverse environmental influences. In order to facilitate multi-machine management, the apparatus is also equipped with nRF905radio communication module to receive abnormal signal from several devices. The apparatus uses a module-based software which provides a friendly interface to be both simple to use and reliable. This paper also records the simulation tests of the apparatus using YL-001mechanical arm, the result of which verifies its functions and usability. The apparatus can be put into production through further testing and development.
