Abstract/Summary:
The cultivation objective of China’s secondary vocational education is to output sufficient high skilled manpower for the society. But this can hardly be fulfilled according to the reality of the present education situation. In recent years, as the government strongly advocates secondary vocational education, it is imperative to carry out the teaching reform in this field.PBL, which stands for Problem-based Learning, means learning based on problem or problem oriented learning. In a PBL learning model, students engage complex, real-world problems and collaboratively work toward their resolution. In this way students get the knowledge behind and gain the ability to solve problems. PBL meets the goal of the secondary vocational education reform and consist with the multi learning techniques of independent inquiring and cooperative learning advocated in the reform.According to the actual conditions in the teaching of Web Design, which is a course I taught when serving at a secondary vocational education school, the author introduced the PBL model. Based on teaching case this study describes and details the practice of PBL model in each stage, and verify that inviting PBL into the teaching of Web Design helps to get students interested in the subject, to develop students’ learning and cooperating abilities, and to foster their abilities of analyzing, problems solving and creative thinking.This thesis consists of five parts:Chapter one is introduction which describes the background, the state, the significance, the content and the methods of the study.Chapter two discusses the application and design of PBL in the course of Web Design. After inquiring into the advantages of taking PBL model in the teaching of Web Design, general process, and teacher-student role coordination, this chapter gets down to the instructional design including learning object design, learning environment design, learning activity design and learning evaluation design.Chapter three details the practice of taking PBL in the teaching of Web Design, and describes the specifics of instructional design and the teaching process of Laoshan Tourism Website.Chapter four analyses the effect of PBL in Web Design teaching including the analysis of students’ knowledge acquisition and problems appeared in the course of teaching.Chapter five concludes the achievement of the research, discusses the problems appeared, point out the deficiency and prospects the future of the research in this field.
