Multi-projector technology has been widely used in many fields. But the construction and maintenance of multi-projection system is complex. The temporary change of the projector’s position will cause recalibration of projectors, which interrupts the process of continuous display. The ambient light will affect the quality of the image used by calibration, which reduces the accuracy of the calibration. To solve the problems mentioned above, a method of video-based multi-projector continuous self-calibration in the impact of ambient light is proposed after some multi-projector calibration technologies are studied. This paper mainly contains the following contents.Firstly, the art-of-state of continuous calibration in multi-projector display is introduced, then its advantages and disadvantages are analyzed.Secondly, a calculation method of projection transformation parameters under ambient light is presented, which can adaptively adjust exposure parameters of the camera in the real environment and thus prevent degradation of the feature points under the influence of ambient light. Achieve accuracy of feature matching process by improving the performance of ORB feature in scale invariance and improve imprecision of parameters calculation by block optimization method. Then a method of multi-projector continuous self-calibration is presented. This method synchronizes the projector image and camera image by measuring the delay of image generation in the projector and skip invalid frame by by analyzing histogram distribution and similarity of video frame and also perform independent geometric correction and brightness uniformization in the fusion area when detected image distortion by detecting algorithm. Finally, experiment design and analysis is performed according to the this paper. The proposed method is also applied to the multi-projector conutious self-calibration system. The results show that the above methods proposed by this paper are efficient.
