Nowadays, there are more and more applications of multi-projector system. A seamless multi-projector system is tiled by geometry calibration and color calibration. According to these calibration technologies, we constructed one multi-projector calibration system.We explain the theory of geometry calibration in the view of coordination transformation. We also introduce the concept of multi-logic screen. By applying multi-logic screen in multi-projector system, it can decrease the cost of hardware and electrical energy by decreasing the number of projectors and PCs, and increase the stability of the system.To achieve a good result of color calibration, we must measure some attributes of projected color precisely according to the theory of projection. We also explain the basic theory of color calibration and the reasons which cause non-uniformity of projected brightness. Then, we propose an algorithm to achieve uniformity of projected brightness and run it in GPU.We also introduce an absolutely new application of multi-projector system which is projecting HDR image by using several cooperated projectors. This application breaks the bottle-neck of color gamut and has strong expansibility on color gamut. It realizes the target of projecting more brightness details of HDR image and shows the projected HDR image more really and naturely in brightness, saturation, and etc.At last, we introduce the hardware construction and software models of our multi-projector calibration system. Our system has applied in many projects and is well appreciated. We believe that our multi-projector calibration system will be widely accepted because of its flexibility, scalability, expanbility and its low cost. |
