Nowadays, as people communicate more frequently and as the rapid development of Internet, a trend has become more and more obvious:people can access the content they need at anytime, anywhere only if they have access to the Internet.Today’s desktop virtualization technology has basically met the needs above, but there are still problems in the acceleration technique of playing High Definition video under desktop virtualization.As this above, this paper aims to propose an acceleration solution to make HDTVs be played smoothly under the environment of Virtual Desktop Infrastructure without too much need of bandwidth. In order to achieve this purpose, this paper had the knowledge of the relevant background information including the definition, classification, and technology of virtualization, the definition of HDTV, the progress of video player and where the progress can be accelerated. After that, in this paper, the existing relevant solutions were studied and analyzed, which was found that there was no solution that is not relied on the technology of picture compression and transmission. Thus, this paper established the research target is to achieve a solution that can help HDTV be played smoothly but is not realized on the technology of picture compression and transmission. After that, this paper had researches on GPU driver and the process of playing HDTV, then it proposed a feasible solution. At last, the paper designed and implemented the solution, and then had function test and performance test on it.The work is as below.1. Research on related solutions, such as how many solutions are there, what are they, what the techniques they use are, and what are their advantages and drawbacks.2. Research the work flow of video players, and propose one or more solutions to solve the problem this paper meets. Then, do some comparisons to find the most feasible solution.3. Design the solution in detail, and implement the design.4. Test and evaluate the solution.
