Along with the development of coding technology and network, HD digital video monitoringsystem has been approved by the growing number of users and vendors, and ultra-high quality andultra-wide scene provided by HD technologies gives us a great visual impact.This thesis mainly describes the design and implementation of multi-site and multi-channel HDvideo monitoring center, and proposes solutions for bottlenecks of HD coding and decodingperformance.First of all, this thesis introduces the principle and algorithm of HD video encoding anddecoding, and discusses the HD coding acceleration solutions. It explains real-time encoding of the4-way1080p HD video on consumer-level computer based on the x264. Meanwhile, it alsodescribes how to achieve GPU accelerated encoding based on the nVIDIA CUDA framework.Secondly, it describes the design and implementation of HD video monitoring center. And itexplains how to receive audio and video RTP data in different network environments, design theRTP data and frame data buffer and decode audio and video based on ffmpeg. It discusses thenetwork SDK and decoding SDK, as well as the monitoring center function design. Finally, thepaper introduces the design of multi-channel player based on VLC, in order to play themulti-channel audio and video data which is recorded based on place.Finally, it introduces the GPU decoding acceleration and specific performance evaluation, anddiscusses Microsoft DXVA and nVIDIA CUDA for decoding acceleration separately.
