With the3D film Avatar showed in many cinemas,3D technology become aninternational craze. From that time3D TV,3D Display,3D video camera and other3Dproducts begin to enter the market, which makes the lives more colorful for the public.Although the3D industry is constrained greately because of the lack of3D content, the3Dmovie based3D content is gradually increasing. Most of the3D content is issued in theform of disc, and the blu-ray3D player has been developed in the foreign country tosupport the3D blu-ray disc. So in order to develop the family brand and to break theblockade of foreign technology, it’s very important for us to develop the3DHigh-definition disc player with our own intellectual property rights.To meet this demand, in the base of Next-generation Versatile Disc a3Dhigh-definition disc playing system is developed. In our system the framework isestablished and to ensure the normal work of the hardware the access control isimplemented in the hardware initialization module; the3D video playing module selectsside-by-side as the format of3D video, realizes the3D subtitle with the side-by-sidedisplay by coordinate transformation and image interlaced sampling, and implemented thecompatibility with2D disc by the flag in navigation configuration file; the3D navigationwith the side-by-side display and the Depth Image Based Rendering algorithm with asimplified model are also achieved in the3D video navaigation module.A test in our system is carried out on the development platform, and the test resultshows that our system operates normally and the functions are all achieved as expected.Then according to the test result the Depth Image Based Rendering algorithm is improved.
