It not only reduce the need for troublesome manual work, but also earn good economical effect and social effect. This paper studies the remote automatic meter reading system is based on the needs of a new residential area.This article first elaborated the task significance, application background of the remote automatic meter reading system, analyzes their respective characteristics, bringed forward the main work, entire project and then focuses on the design and implementation of remote AMR system based on Hm701ESP. Communication mode of this system is adopted widely based on the RS-485electrical characteristics of asynchronous serial communication technology,. The Water meter automatic recognition is the front part of the digital real-time wireless Multi-media system and the image processing and digits recognition are its two core technologies. According to the trait of water meter characters, the article first takes filtering, binarization in proper order as pre-treatment, then combines the projection method to divide characters, finally recognize them with template matching method.
