The traditional way to fill a tooth is movable denture or fixed dental bridge. The implanted denture is not beautiful, difficult to clean, easy to loose and has poor bite force. As medical technology, material technology and computer aided technology progress, both the work in tooth theory and clinical applications have got encouraging progress. More and more people tend to use a new way-digital dental planting technology to complete dental implant. The software support system is the core part of digital dental planting technology, known as the "digital dental implants system". By using this system, the doctor can simulate the process of planting on the computer, determine all the parameters for implants and make a suitable planning scheme for implant surgery.With thorough analysis of the users’demand and comprehensive consideration on the basis of technical feasibility, we put forward a complete solution of digital dental implants system.First of all, in this paper, we make a detailed specification of architecture design for the digital dental implants system. This system uses MVC hierarchical structure, and on this basis, with a deep analysis of the users’needs and system function, we divide the system into six modules according to the principle of independence. Then we make a detailed function definition and classes design for each module. In addition, we also make a humanized design for the software system interface.Secondly, this paper carefully analyzes, summarizes and solves the technical difficulties in the system. They are image cutting plane formation, system model collision detection and interactive control technology. The first technical challenge can be divided into plane cutting surface and curve cutting plane problems, the first one can be solved by using VTK tools, but for the second one we put forward an original image resampling algorithm to solve. The second technical difficulty can also be divided into two sub problems. One is collision detection between two cylinders; the other is collision detection between cylinder and irregular neural tube. For these two problems, the paper puts forward the corresponding collision detection algorithms, and also designs an efficient sampling strategy, to ensure the real-time collision detection. The third difficulty is interactive control technology. Interactive control and interface design are two different concepts. The former is more to the bottom of the technical implementation. By taking the human user experience as guidelines, we design the control logic for view synchronous display, implant multi-channel interaction mode, undo and redo capability and other related aspects separately, which not only makes the whole system function more intact, but also improves the performance of the system.
