In recent years, with the rapid development of computer technology and networkcommunication technology, manufacturing and its manufacturing technology alsoproduced a significant change. In order to satisfy with the requirements of the market,the manufacturing enterprises must shorten the product design and productionpreparation period, improve product quality and reduce the manufacturing costs underlimited conditions. Product process design is an important production activity inmanufacturing enterprises, but now the process design has become a “bottleneck” inproduction activities due to its complex process, long design cycle and the applicationof many resources and tools.By employing the idea of the workflow process design process management, thisbottleneck can be broken through. In this paper, the process of a valve manufacturingprocess design process, including classified research, was analyzed, and three commonworkflow process design characteristics are summarized. According to the research ofCAPP system and workflow management system, the CAPP system modelworkflow-driven was established, and the organizational structure, process repositoryand process knowledge modeling were also analyzed. By employing the workflowmanagement ideas and technology into the CAPP system, the process design processstandardization and standardized management were achieved.In this paper, Petri net technology was used to establish the model of workflow andstudies the mapping between the workflow and Petri nets. With regard to the dynamicchanges of the workflow model, a process activity-based routing relationship matrixapproach was illustrated. And the process design workflow operation principle of CAPPsystem was analyzed.Based on the actual needs of S company, the overall structure and core functions ofthe software module design were completed, and the software functional model wasalso established. The CAPP system was studied from the perspective of softwaredevelopment, the key technologies used in the software development process wereanalyzed, the physical model of the system database was established, and the main partsof the database are described.The result of the system application from S company shows that workflow-drivenCAPP can solve the problems. The process design was standardized, the design efficiency was improved and the design cycles were shortened.
