Since the publishing industry have developed so much today, facing a majortransition node, that is, the development of thousands of years of human science andculture have built up a huge knowledge system, and with the continuously contentupdate and expansion, the organization mode of digital resource cannot satisfiedreaders’ accurate needs, but also bring redundant barriers for personalized informationneeds. Therefore, as a content provider, new breakthrough if publisher want to achievein this transition, building fragmentation publishing methods based on the personalizedinformation needs is a good attempt.Based on digital and network information environment, follow the “raise aquestion-analysis-problem solving” research paradigm, this paper analyzes fromfragmentation of network communication and the challenges and opportunities inpublishing industry, found that fragmentation publishing is an important developmenttrend in the internet publishing today, and hence propose the concept and definitionabout it. On this basis, this paper also builds up the ways of value realization andexplains in detail on personalized customization and personalized interaction, as well asspecialized editing force according to the personalized information needs. Finally, twotypical cases on fragmentation publishing are selected and commented.This paper is divided into six chapters, as follows:Chapter1is the introduction. It puts forward the research theme: the fragmentationof network communication derived the fragmentation of publishing methods, and howto build up fragmentation publishing which is based on the personalized informationneeds. This chapter states the research background and significance of the theme, andfurthermore, it introduces the research ideas, content and methods.Chapter2is the theoretical overview. To provide a foundation for paper, it analyzesthe fragmentation trend of communication context, introduces and summarizes somerelated theories on fragmentation publishing.Chapter3defines the concept of fragmentation publishing and analyses its corecharacteristics from the disciplines such as communication and publishing, etc.Chapter4builds up the ways of value realization of fragmentation publishingbased on the personalized information needs, explains personalized customization andpersonalized interaction in detail, as well as the protection role of specialized editing force.Chapter5analyzes comparatively and comments two leading and typicalfragmentation publishing cases which are selected from the publishing industry, thusprovides reference for traditional publishing and network publishing.Chapter6summarizes the research conclusion according to the previous results,meanwhile indicates the deficiency existing in the present study and puts forward somesuggestions for future research direction.In this paper, the research emphasis and innovation lies in: the definition offragmentation publishing concept and the analysis of personalized information needs,thereby proposes the ways of value realization of fragmentation publishing:personalizedcustomization and personalized interaction.
