In recent years, while the prosperity and development of the logistics industry, the port as one of the nodes of the logistics industry, its economy’s prosperity anddevelopment are also striking. Tianjin Port, as one of the leading enterprises inTianjin, has maintained a relatively rapid development. While the radiation capacityextending, the port’s functions and service range are constantly expanding. Becausethe port is technology-intensive enterprises, it has urgent needs of modern andinformational measures for assets management.Through the reorganization of Tianjin Port equipment management processesand business demands, this thesis designed and developed the equipment managementinformation system (EMIS) for Tianjin Port. The system includes staticmanagement subsystem, dynamic management subsystem, materials managementsubsystem, tools management module, statistical decision-making module and systemmanagement module. According to current features of equipment management inTianjin Port, the system consists of two parts, group class and company class. Inaccordance with the different features, the system use B/S (Browser/Server) and C/S(Client/Server) architecture respectively. The system mainly uses ASP.NET, PB9.0and Oracle9i as the development tool, for ensure stable and efficient running of thesystem. The system has totally covered all ports’ equipment management demands, greatly increased the availability and utilization of the equipment in company class. This thesis details demand analysis, business process diagrams, data flow diagramsanalysis, main functional module design, design and implementation of maintenanceand repair work sheet dispatch, design and implementation of material managementfunctions of the EMIS.At present, the system has been fully used in all terminals in Tianjin Port. Asusage process increasing and deepening, the system also needs further improvementand refinement.
