Real estate is an important pillar of the national economy, one of the basicconditions of the people live and work. China’s real estate market has developmentrapidly and made significant achievements since1978, the housing policy wasreformed. But it also made a lot of problems, such as the high price of housing, thedemolition issues, and the disputes arising from property, and so on. The real estatenews is related to real estate, it is the product of the development of the real estatemarket which refer to the scope of economic, political, social and other aspects.Because of the unique position and scale, the real estate industry of Guangzhou isconcerned by a lot of people. Real estate news of Guangzhou has been a hot topic inrecent years, especially in local media, they have set up a special edition for theGuangzhou’s real estate. Although the real estate news of Guangzhou is veryprosperous now, unfortunately, there is no specialized research for it.In this paper, the author studied on Southern Metropolis Daily which is the mostrepresentative media in Guangzhou, analyzed its reported time, reported issues,information sources, reported attitude by the method of content analysis, presented thesituation of the real estate news of Guangzhou. The author also presented the featuresand the communication strategies by the method of text analysis. After analysis, theauthor judged the situation of the real estate news of Guangzhou, referencing tojournalistic professionalism and media constructivism, and proposed countermeasures.The author suggested that the media should pay attention to improve the level ofjournalistic professionalism in the future, strengthen external oversight, concern aboutpeople’s livelihood issues, and also make efforts to enhance the audience’s medialiteracy.
