With the enhancement of social informatization degree, the intelligence value ofpatent information is growing daily for a national or an enterprise. Through the patentinformation, a country can obtain some information which reflects other countries’independent innovation capability and industry development condition, and also acorporate can monitor the technology refresh to formulate appropriate technologydevelopment strategy and keep the initiative in technological development.By using the method of social network analysis in the researching of thefrequency conversion technique patent information, researchers are able to take fullaccount of the succession of technical development, and overcome the shortcomingsof traditional statistical methods which ignore technical relevance. Moreover,researcher can predict the future of technology development trend and provideguidance for decision-makers with the clear context of technology developmentprovided by the method. By the way, the proposed method is able to enrich andperfect the research methods of technology trends analysis.First of all, I put forward a new method which combines time series analysiswith Scattered Bradford’s law on the basis of available researches, and apply the newmethod to identifying core IPC fields. By this step, I can identify the frequencyconversion technology R&D status and development trends from the technicalmaturity, regional distribution characteristics, productive research and developmentinstitutions, and the dynamics analysis of technical field.Secondly, this paper apply the m-nuclear analytical methods to identifying coreapplications fields of a co-occurrence network in a creative way, with the help ofmathematical software and network analysis software. Then the changing process ofthe heart application fields of the frequency conversion technology has been showedfrom the view of medium level in pictures and words. So the analyzing of the changingtrend becomes easy.Thirdly, the each time stage citation network combined with Pajek the structuralfeatures of the built-in algorithms and citation network analysis enable me to identifythe various stages of the core patented technology of dynamic changes and analyzethe core technology trend from a more microscopic perspective.Finally, the overall analysis and network analysis results demonstrate the patentstatus of the inverter technology, clear hot areas of research and development, the coreapplications, the core technology. These results can be used to predict the next hotfield and core technology trends from macro, medium and micro multiple levels.
