As a new developing network technology, web content managementsystem (CMS) has many advantages such as template-based design, fastwebsite build and reduce development costs. CMS provides a simpleplatform for the websites building for universities and colleges whichalso can effectively enhance the level of management and development ofwebsite and to promote the construction of information campus. The basic idea of this system is based on the Content ManagementSystem and the actual educational needs of Yunnan Vocational andTechnical College. We employ XOOPS to design and achieve a functionalmodules selectable shared multi-sites system. The planning andconstruction of the network platform, application system, database system, and security system are mainly focuses in developing process. The systemuses B/S architecture, Windows XP as the operating system, ApacheWebserver, MySQL as database and PHP as a server-side script interpreter toachieve the requirements of information distribution, communication andmanagement during work. The system has some special characters:achieve single sign-on capabilities between multi-sites through databasemerging. The advantage of this function is both to ensure theindependence between the various websites, but also realize the websitefunctional modules selectively shared. After running test, the system has reached the design requirementsand has some good features such as: editing environment is simple; easyto operate; the unified arrangements of the page content; optionalfunction modules sharing; dynamic content can easily publish; ease thepressure of high-volume data processing. The results of the developmentof the University information system, website development and researchwork has practical significance. The results have a reference value to theresearch works of information-based campus.
