In recent years, as a new physical phenomenon slow light is not only a beginningof scientific exploration, but also has a great future in various research field tonow. For next-generation all-optical networks, slow light has been important.Various slow light coupled resonators due to its small size, ease of integration, great anti-electromagnetic interference ability and other characteristics, hasdeveloped into the main method to produce slow light. The article construct thislecture from the current status of the field of slow light phenomenon based ondouble coupled ring resonator and come up with adjusting the speed of light viavariable loss.At the beginning, the article describes and reviews the research progress inrecent years in the field of slow light, reviewed the research progress in the slowlight and adjusting the the speed of light, respectively. Also, the article reviewsthe slow light phenomenon in two coupled resonator structures, and pointed outthe worldwide research progress and results in this field. Several facts ofpropagation velocity of light waves in the medium are described. Then, the use of the transfer matrix method to study the double coupled ringresonator of two different frameworks of the transmittance, the effective phaseshift, the effective phase shift change ratio and nature of the delay of theresonator. Single coupled ring resonator structure, the impact of the loss factorfor the overall structure of the nature of the slow light have been studied, andtheoretically proposed the use of loss parameters to adjust the speed of light.Last but not least, we experimentally studied the control of light speed viaadjusting the loss of ring1and ring2in a double coupled ring resonator ofcoupled ring induced transparency.
