The traditional Intermediate Frequency module in software radio receiver has some problems of dependence on the hardware and the poor signal adaptability. In this paper, Digital IF receiver module in software radio receiver is designed to serve the need of compatible hardware between different communication systems in frequency band, modulations and protocols, with Quartus Ⅱ as the software platform, Altium Designer Winter09as the hardware platform and EP3C40F484C6FPGA, AD6654and CDCE62005as, respectively, main chip, digital down frequency conversion chip and the clock chip.This paper, firstly, analyzes the development and problems of the digital IF module, states the digital IF module design theory and presents its design goals and solutions. Secondly, the hardware circuit of digital IF module is designed and implemented through the selection and configuration of main chip, digital down frequency conversion chip and the clock chip, the design of communication interface, schematic drawing, printed PCB board, etc. Then, the software functions of the digital IF module is achieved through the configuration parameters of the chip, phase-locked loop to achieve, the working principle and implementation of SPI bus, half-band filter and MATLAB simulation code and other research by using the verilog language. Finally, the hardware circuitry and software code are debugged, respectively, by modular and overall debugging, and the debugging process and results are analyzed and summarized.Through debugging and analysis the design of digital IF module show that the digital IF module has the characteristic of high integration, the secondary development of flexibility, performance stability, etc. This module supports TD-SCDMA, WCDMA, CDMA2000, GSM four modulations, which fully reflects the basic idea of openness, standardization, modularity, versatility of software radio. This subject provides a better solution in the research of the digital IF module design and implementation.
