Teacher job burnout is an important factor that affects teachers’ work and life. Thequestionnaire is conducted among191teachers in12public schools of Dalian Citythrough the Teacher Burnout Scale. SPSS19.0statistical software is used instatistical analysis on the investigation result of job burnout of elementary andsecondary school teachers, and in comparative test on job burnout factors ofelementary and secondary school teachers.(1) compared with the norm, the low selfaccomplishment dimension is significantly lower than the national norm, the scores ofthe emotional exhaustion dimension and depersonalization dimension are significantlyhigher than the national norm;(2) There appear to be gender differences in theemotional exhaustion dimension among elementary and secondary school teachers.The score of male teachers is higher than that of female teachers;(3) The age of thefemale teachers has an effect on job burnout. Different group of years of teaching has asignificant impact on job burnout total score, emotional exhaustion anddepersonalization. The correlation analysis result of job burnout of elementary andsecondary school teachers shows that there are significant correlations betweenoccupational factor, school factor, personal factor and each dimension of job burnout;Feeling positive in work has significant positive correlation with each dimension andthe total score of job burnout; The personal factor, occupational factor, school factor,professional title have negative correlation with teacher job burnout. Elementary andsecondary school teachers’ job burnout level in Dalian City is relatively high, but thereis no significant difference between it and that of investigation result in other provincesduring recent five years. Based on the results, the following related countermeasuresare put forward. From improving the psychological quality of teachers, improveteachers’ self-personality. Based on the humanistic care, achieve a harmonious education, strengthen the system management of education, protect the healthyteaching of teachers and hold reasonable expectations of teacher profession. Teachers’job burnout can be reduced or alleviated through the above effective measures.
