Mindmapper, as a new brainstorm tool, can expand indefinite ability of the brain. With the help of radiate network, vertical connections between information is clear, therefore more information can be remembered within a short period. Mindmapper can apply the brain pattern into learning and thinking, so a new trend is getting popular in education field. In the practice of teaching, the majority of students are poor at comprehensive knowledge because they do not know how to coordinate various difficult points.When mindmapper is introduced into daily teaching, teachers try to compensate this shortcoming. Experiments will be set to test students’ comprehensive analysis and construction of knowledge, by which the significance of mindmapper in teaching experience can be embodied. Students from different layers are tested to see the difference on different students. And various lessons are examined to see which kind suits mindmapper better.This thesis consists of five chapters. The first chapter is about the meaning, purpose and status quo of this subject. The second chapter is about the theoretical basis on mindmapper teaching, including constructive theory, multi-intelligence theory, and humanistic theory. General introduction of domestic and international studies on mindmapper is also included. The third chapter emphasizes vertical connections between difficult points in textbook, taking Module One, from Regular Senior High Standard Curricular Experimental Biology Textbook (7edition, July2011), as an example. It discusses vertical connections between knowledge within this module and between Module One and the others modules. The fourth chapter includes teaching practice research, application test method, investigation method, and case study method. Students should answer questionnaires in order to compare the differences before and after the use of mindmapper. Experimental Class and other classes are compared; four kinds of lessons, new teaching, review, experiment and exam-paper analysis, are compared, too, from which the mindmapper teaching method and its effects are analyzed. And the author also interviews a student and keeps track of the changes to see the effects. The last chapter is conclusion and suggestions on teaching.On the basis on theoretical research and field study on mindmapper for one academic year, conclusions are as follows. It can help students analyze the relations between important points, and clarify the related knowledge points, thus improving their comprehensive understanding. After the application of mindmapper teaching method, students’creativity is bettered, especially the imagination. Mindmapper has been used in new materials presentation, review classes, experiment classes and exam-paper analyzing classes. And the percentages of completed tasks are all higher than the control classes, which means it does have a positive effect on student’s performance.
