With the comprehensive promotion of quality education and the deepening of thenew curriculum, many people have started to work on the study of a new version ofhistory textbook.The development of the times also makes the teaching of American History insenior high school face unprecedented challenges. It requires us to move forward toimprove the quality of the teaching of American History in senior high school. Itdemands us to accelerate convergence with international standards to meet the needsof Reform and Opening up, globalization and the development of global culturaldiversity. However, there are still some problems in the specific teaching practice ofAmerican History in senior high school. So, this paper will study the two textbooksabout American History by People Education Press and People’s Version according tothe same curriculum. And based on that, some problems encountered in thecompilation of the American History in senior high school and also in the teaching ofthe American History will be reflected. In this thesis, some strategies are tried to bemade to improve the teaching of American History in senior high school.There are six sections in this article:The Introduction in this article includes research background, research content,the definition of concept, research status, the meaning of the research and researchmethods and ideas.The first chapter mainly aims at the study of the history curriculum standards toknow more about the new curriculum requirements of the contents of AmericanHistory comprehensively.The second chapter is based on the study of American History in the textbooks ofPeople Education Press and People’s Version. The content of the American History inPeople Education Press is compared with that in the People’s Version in the aspects ofthe content system, writing features and the consistency with the curriculum.The third chapter is about the investigation and analysis about the status of theteaching of the American History by People’s Version in senior high school. Throughthe analysis of the questionnaire, the status of the teaching of American History can be understood deeply.The fourth Chapter aims at the analysis of some teaching cases of AmericanHistory. It mainly make relevant tragedies according to the convergence of theteaching of American History from middle to senior high school, the learningcharacteristics of senior high school students about the American History, the researchof American History and the teaching of American History in senior high school. Italso propose appropriate countermeasures according to the problems in the textbooksto promote the teaching of the new curriculum about American History in senior highschool and improve the quality of education.The fifth chapter makes a summary about the research outlined in this paper andmakes some recommendations. I hope that this paper will make contributions to theteaching of American History in senior high school in China.
