Lots of college graduates enter into the society since the universityenrollment expansion in1999, but at the same time, employment problems come. Especially after the global financial storm in2008and2009, the number of college graduates will be close to6.11million people in China and the problem of employment of college students has drawn attention of the state and society. At present, the number of graduates increased year by year and has become nearly7million. The number is almost190,000more than the one in2012and even more seven times thanthe one in2001. However, with the rapid development of Chinese higher education, a number of college graduates have soared and many problems have emerged, so the university students’ employment problem isstill important.In this context, this paper has summarized practice and theoretical research of university students’ employment nearly five years and has chosen Jilin University engineering graduates as the research object to getthe practical investigation research according to the career guidance theory, rational choice theory (Coleman), under the guidance of maslow’s hierarchy of needs theory. Through analysis of survey data and research,the paper has refered all sorts of problems existing in the contemporaryuniversity students’ employment and in-depth analysis of the influencing factors and found effective measures from individuals, families, schools, social four angles. This paper argues that in all aspects of society, schoolfactor is more important than other factors, therefore, this paper focuseson exploring how to adjust the personnel training structure and mode tomake that graduates adapt to the needs of the society through the education concept, curriculum, professional guidance and other improvements.It aimed to provide the thought and theory reference for the university students’ employment practices in our country.
