The latest statistics of the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security showedthat the ordinary nationwide university graduates are expected to6.8million in2012,which is a record high. It has aroused widespread attention that accompanied by universityenrollment and highlights the difficult employment problem. Especially the distinctive artgraduates, as a personalized groups in college students, whose employment is affected byschools, institutions, social and other factors. The employment situation has become morecritical, and very worthy of attention.The paper uses empirical study to research the problem of the employment ofNanjing Art Students study through interviews, questionnaires and other methods. Firstly,the paper summarizes the hot issues in the employment of art students, and then designsthe questionnaire according to the employment flows to regions, employment units andsalary expectations. There are345questionnaires were sent out, and341validquestionnaires were collected, the effective rate was98.8%. The survey involvedgraduates of the College juniors. The analysis of the data shows that the art students’employment has the characteristics of informal employment, small employment andconcentrated employment. And then the paper has an in-depth analysis of the causes of theArt Students employment characteristics. On this basis, the paper proposed that in order toincrease students’ employability and competitiveness we should create national policyguidance, college students career planning and to strengthen the cultivation of students’healthy personality, and adjust the professional setting ideas.
