As an important Chinese modern scholar, Mr. Wang Guowei studied many kinds of subject and had made great contribution. As an important part of his theory, Art Education Theory caught no eyes at the beginning and people have different opinions on it, but that just means it is worth of studying. More and more people focus eyes on Mr. Wang’s Art Education Theory and start to agree with him. Mr. Wang said that Art Education means Emotional Education and my thesis bases on it and try to make a superficial study of it.There are four parts of the thesis, the first tells the content of Mr. Wang’s Art Education Theory, and the theory resources of the Emotional Education Theory. The second section focuses on the "emotion", analyzes the causes, and finds out how important it is in Mr. Wang’s studying, creation and education theory. I’11start from the cultural and psychological perspective. The cultural perspective is the natural and cultural environment of his birth place. As cultural center of China after Tang and Song Dynasty, Zhe Jiang is a place endowed with the fine spirits of the universe, and it is easy to cultivate the emotional poets. The psychological perspective is the family was in straitened circumstances and suffered repeatedly; it is easy to imagine his depression. The third internal cause is his persistence on chasing the genius and the ideal, thinking of the depression, it is easy to understand his sentimentality. Secondly, the social and historical perspective means the inheritance of the Chinese classic aesthetics and the influence of the social state. As a Confucian scholar of the feudal society, Mr. Wang had the ambition of saving the people and the country, and he must be depressed by witnessing the dilemma of them. It is natural to basis on the Chinese classic, for he is feudal literati, especially Zhuang Zi. The analysis of the influence of the western philosophy from the point of the Comparative Aesthetics, and the influence must be attributed to the introduction and the preference of Mr. Wang, such as Mr. Schopenhauer. The third section tells that the emotion is so important for Mr. Wang that Comments on the Dreams of the Red Mansion, Renjian Ci and Renjian Cihua are all flood with it. The third part is to compare Mr. Wang’s aesthetic education theory with Cai Yuanpei’s and Liang Qichao’s from two aspects of similarities and differences. The fourth section analyzes the practical significance of Mr. Wang’s theory, and the difficulty to put Mr. Wang’s theory into effect. He claimed that Aesthetic Education was more important than politics and morality, and can promote people’s emotion state. After all of this, we can realize the highest beauty. The thought was precious but elusive. This part tells us why it’s an elusion from four aspects; include the unreality of the belles-lettres, his own class bias, agriculture country, and the country desires for the change.
