From the management, property hereditary in original free economyto the attachment of economic management to regime,Chinese traditionalparadigms of management theory consists of three kinds of differenthumanity hypotheses. The “benevolence” thought of Confucius,“goodnature doctrine”of Mencius and“evil nature doctrine”of Xun Zi. However, due to the traditional pan-moralism from Qin dynasty emphasizes on thegood side of human too much and ignores the side of selfish desire, twistsand imprisons people’s mind, this single method results in a one-sideddevelopment of management thinking, not suitable for economicdevelopment. However,Western management thought just the opposite, it based onthe“economic man”hypothesis from the very beginning. The developmentof Western management theory paradigms, first “classical managementtheory”,notably Taylor’s scientific management paradigm, which is basedon“economic man”hypothesis, emphasizes on scientific management ofpositions and process systems, treats people as machineparts.Subsequently, although the theoretical paradigm of behavioralscience management, notably Mayo’s interpersonal relationship theory, not only emphasizes scientific management, but also concerns about humanbehavior, its emphasis on incentives based on the purpose of improvingproduction efficiency, people are still treated as means rather thanend. After Adam Smith proposed the“economic man”hypothesis in the Wealthof Nations,he founds“amoral man”hypothesis as the leading role of “economic man”hypothesis in the Theory of Moral Sentiments, but in theareas of western management, including the“self-realization”hypothesiswhich derived from Maslow’s demand theory and other complex“managementtheory jungle”, the humanity hypothesis embedded in Western managementscience are built upon the interest-oriented“economic man”hypothesis, inthe most basic sense. Therefore, the Western economic and management thinking worshipsthe meet of demand and economic growth excessively while inducing humandesire to promote the expansion of Western economies and the rapiddevelopment of science and technology, leads to the materialization anddistortions of humanity, results in the consequence that the moreproductive forces develops, the more people feel the repression of“materialization”,the more emphasis on science and managementincentives, the more they feel like tool.Accordingly, blend the western scientific management developmentin the Chinese Confucian management thinking, which is not only the needof management development in our country at present stage, but also themain direction for the development of management thinking. This paperwill elaborates the development of Chinese and western managementthoughts from the aspects of hypothesis of human nature. The first chapterintroduces the research status both at home and abroad and the researchsignificance briefly. The second chapter elaborates the evolution of theChinese traditional management theory paradigm and the development ofthe western management theory paradigm mainly. The third chapter is theelaboration and comparative analysis of Chinese and western humanityhypothesis--the similarities and differences between them, notably the“benevolence”thoughts of Confucius,“good nature doctrine”of Menciusand “evil nature doctrine”of Xunzi in China,in the west there are notably“economic man” hypothesis,“moral man” hypothesis and the“self-realization”hypothesis.The last chapter analyzes GE’s management idea, reveals the existence issues in the human resource management ofour country, combines Chinese and western humanity hypothesis, makes apeople-oriented plan for the future management theory and developmentof domestic management.
