The quantitative and qualitative methods are employed in analyzing the first-hand data.According to the survey of this thesis, the number of Mongolian students who are educated in Mongolian language decreases by years. It becomes a tendency that Mongolian students go to schools where educations are conducted in Chinese language. The proportion reaches to one third for an average year. It is their own rights and choices for Mongolian parents to decide which kind of schools they send their children to. However, the reasons why the number of Mongolian students who are educated in Chinese language grows bigger are because of the minority preferential policy, the encouragement policy for farmers to emigrate to urban cities, the increasing number of intermarriage between Mongolian and Chinese Han people, the broader professional and career choices of Chinese Han students, and the centralized school establishment policy in our country.According to the survey, the Mongolian students who are educated in ethnic identity for their lack of Mongolian language environment, comparatively low level of Mongolian language skills, less contact and utilization with Mongolian media and inadequate knowledge of the Mongolian culture. In contrast, Mongolian of Mongolian middle school students who are educated in Mongolian language are growing in Mongolian environment, so they have relatively higher level in Mongolian language, the Mongolian media contact more, understanding of the culture of Mongolian customs is relatively deep.
