The middle school grammar teaching is playing a significant role in fostering the ability of the students to correctly use their own language and scnipt. Language is a strong tool for learning all kinds of subjects; therefore, grammar teaching becomes particularly important. It may be helpful to the students'study, and it can also improve the students' skill of using Mongolian language, which can make their life easier.The author discusses the importance of the Mongolian grammar teaching at two different levels of student and society. And, from the angles of phonetics, morphology and syntax, she analyses the teaching materials of the middle-school 《Mongolian Grammar》 , which have been utilized over the past twenty more years since the recovery of the college-entrance exam. The following defects of the teaching materials are emphasized in the paper: Repeatedly teaching the grammar contents that have been taught already in the elementary school; Teaching the theoretical knowledge only while totally neglecting its practical significance; paying no attention to improving the students' ability to thinkindependently.The author says that according to the quality-oriented education system, the Mongolian grammar teaching should be adapted to fit for the students' physical and mental characteristics. And the teachers ought to systematically teach the Mongolian grammar on the basis of the 《Mongolian language teaching ortline》 . Besides, the teachere should also pay more attention to fostering the students' ability to think, create and independently study.The.research is one of the important subjects in Mongolian language teaching.
