The article mainly discusses the present and its present teaching situation of the history of chemistry in high school chemistry compulsory teaching materials. The new curriculum aim at improving the students’scientific literacy, the history of chemistry’s education is an effective way to improve students’scientific literacy. The student’s education of the history of chemistry is mainly comes from the teacher, and teaching materials is the main basis of teacher’s teaching. So it is necessary to research in the appearance of the history of chemical in teaching material and its mingle with classroom teaching. The purpose of this paper is to dig the characteristic of the history of chemistry in the current high school chemistry textbook and understand the confusion of the front-line teachers in the education of the history of chemistry, except to put forward concrete Suggestions for revision of teaching materials and teachers’ teaching.The article is mainly composed of the following four parts:The first part:introduction. This part mainly include the research background, research purpose, research significance, research ideas and theoretical basis, the definition of relevant concept and literature review. The theoretical basis of the paper is the meaningful learning theory, Maslow’s hierarchy of needs and the learning theory of Constructivism. The definition of relevant concept is primarily five concepts:the history of chemistry, the education of the history of chemistry, textbooks, scientific literacy, and the nature of science. The Literature review parts for domestic and foreign related research the education of the history of chemistry. The foreign literature review I choose the history of science education in United States. Britain and Japan for reviewed:the Domestic literature review mainly for the scholars’s four perspectives of the education of the history of chemistry:the selection and the presentation of the history of chemistry in the teaching materials,the research of contrust local teaching mode of the history of chemsitry, the practice research of put the history of chemistry into classroom and the research of education function of the history of chemistry.The second part:teaching material analysis. Mainly to analyse of the history of chemistry in high schools compulsory teaching material. In the process of analysis I use for reference from the scale of Portugal scholars and combining the actual situation. It includes three level dimensions:the selection of the history of chemistry, the presentation of the history of chemistry and the learning style of the history of chemistry.and sets the secondary dimension to analyze the teaching materials.The third part:investigation analysis. It includes prepare the questionnaire and interview outline, to publish the questionnaires and revelant study in choosed school.to analyse and statistical for data, know the situation of the history of chemistry in compulsory teaching materials.The fourth part:conclusion and suggestion. The first is the conclusion part. Teaching material:the characteristics of the history of chemistry:uniform distribution, time distribution is reasonable, etc.main problems:it doesn’t involved the history of chemistry in the disputes between different school, uneven distribution of image, narrative form mainly narrates no less the plot, less introduction for the background, the form of the history of chemistry appears in materals is single etc. Conclusion questionnaire:teachers’ understanding of the education function of the history of chemistry is deviation; teacher using the history of chemistry in the classroom is single, lack of background knowledge of the history of chemistry etc. The second is suggestion. Materials:true reappearance the research process of the history of science, the selection of content of the history of chemistry should pay attention to its typicality, to reshape the real image of the scientists Teacher:to put the education of the history of chemistry on school-based curriculum, pay attention to their own professional knowledge attainment, to increase the education value of the history of chemistry by use various methods, draw lessons from foreign patterns etc. In the last of paper put forward the author’s review study and exception.
