It needs some curricula as carrier for the instruction of ill-structured problem solving, and textbooks embody the curricula content, which are the principal media for teaching and learing. Teachers should be familiar with the ill-structured problems in textbooks before teaching them to a better instruction. Therefore, it is wise to know if there are ill-structured problems in three sets high school chemistry textbooks of the compulsory module in the context of new course, and to explicit where are they and how many ill-structured problems and how they are distributed in every textbook. Further more, the characteristics and defects and improving methods of ill-structured problems in the textbooks will be studied. All these problems has great value and should be answered urgently. The related papers of ill-structured problem were illustrated in this study firstly, then the ill-structured problems in three sets chemistry textbooks of the compulsory module in senior middle school were analyzed and counted. The conclusions are as follows:1.There are some ill-structured problems in three sets chemistry textbooks of the compulsory module in senior middle school, which lies in the columns of textbooks, and the percent of ill-structured problems is different in diverse columns.2.
