Since 2004, Guangdong, Shandong, Ningxia and Hainan are the first group of provinces to pioneer into the new course syllabus for the high school chemistry courses. By 2007, these new course syllabus have been conducted for at least one session in the captioned provinces. In fall 2007, Shannxi province is undergoing the experimental phases for this new teaching course syllabus. This new syllabus has brought major changes in the area of teaching capabilities structuring the courses and course contents. Chemistry teaching materials is an essential part of the chemistry courses; it serve as the foundation for the teacher to organize their courses, and is also key for the student to learn about the chemistry basic, experimental skills, development skills and nourish them a broader view of the scientific world. The success and failure of this new syllabus depends many upon the interaction of the new syllabus and the teachers, whether the teacher can make good use of this content or is the new course material suitable for the teachers.Questions raised in this new teaching materials are :1. Can the teachers get used to this new teaching materials ?2. Where do the teachers find the new materials useful ?3. What kind of questions and trepidation do the teacher face in using this new materials ?4. Can they share useful tips with other teachers in using this materials ?5. How can we speed up the process for the teachers to accustom to this new materials ?6. How to develop a process for the teachers to submit their common problems to the designated goverment agencies and research departments ?This surfaced problems are of great value for the final evaluation and eventually will serve as a new direction for the new teaching materials.The author has conducted a survey about the compatibility of the new teaching materials with the chemistry teachers in 24 middle schools located in 10 cities in the province of Shannxi. This survey is an attempt to analyze the teacher's reaction, understanding and their problems encountered in using the new teaching materials and the conclusions are :1. The teaching materials with their targeted lesson time, the drill questions, the overall structure thus has some suitability issues;2. Great number of teachers have in mind to further analyze the re-organize and tailor this materials for the own teacher use; 3. The new teaching material had provided teachers with a new insight in the latest education technique and also giving them more rooms to maneuver their teaching time, teachers can, in the future, use this modern technique as the basic blocks for formulating teaching courses over the Internet;4. Lack of detail co-operations with other related or non-related subjects;5. Teachers have complained that the new teaching materials do not contain sufficient information for doing research.According to the above conclusion, we would to propose the following implementation plan :1. To Teacher training : Further enhances teacher's training effect, give teachers more opportunity to provide some experience, resources, exchange;2. To administration and education research department: speed up our province 2010 year college administration examination planning, related government agencies and research departments should put up directions or plans to improve teacher's teaching skill in order to score a higher college entry percentage; strengthen the research to admittanced chemistry teaching assistant, So that they true complementary rather than chaos.3. To school management: carry out based-school research on teaching, Promote personal professional development of teachers, Safeguard the implementation of the new curriculum;4. To teaching materials' author: Provide the feedbacks from the teachers to the author and publisher of the textbooks;5. To teachers: Find ways to enrich the teachers' knowledge banks, changing the ways that teachers has to be studied to devote the energy to help teachers do more active research and development;6. To teaching material evaluation: enforce the correlation of the course contents with the final course evaluations and also extending this evaluation to the whole education system in order to provide better teaching materials and education services.In conclusion, after focusing on the results of the Shannxi Province and other areas, which are using this new teaching contexts, we have find practical problems and we are proposing the above implementation plan to improve on the new teaching materials so that we can revolutionize our whole education system in order to provide a better teaching materials for our province.
