Cultivate "All-healthy Man"

Fromm, a humanistic educator, dedicated his life to the research of "man", which mainly focus on human nature, human alienation and human liberation. Proceeding from the living conditions of people in society after World War Ⅱ, he criticized the alienation of politics, economy and education in capitalism society. He hoped through the reform of social political, economic, and cultural education, we could establish a sound social that cultivating all-healthy man.The paper can be divided into four parts, analyzing Fromm’s educational thought of cultivating all-healthy man.The first part discusses the background of the "all-healthy man" educational thought from the following three aspects, Fromm’s unique growing experience, the turbulent social and the spiritual crisis that modern society people faced. The second part analyzes the theory origin and ideological basis of Fromm’s educational thought of cultivating all-healthy man from the following three aspects, Freud’s psychoanalysis theory, Marx’s human thought and Fromm’s human nature theory. The third part mainly introduces the basic content of Fromm education thought of cultivating all-healthy man. Through the introduction of Fromm’s criticism on the educational alienation in capitalist society, leading to the goal of education is to cultivate all-healthy man, who pursue positive liberty, possess productive character, pay highly attention to existence and have the creative ability of love. The shape of an all-healthy man needs the comprehensive reform on social economy, politics, education and some other fields. Only in this way can realize person’s full scale development. The fourth part makes an evaluation on Fromm’s educational thought. The theory value lies on the attention to the development of individual potential, while excessively exaggerating the role of the individual psychology at the same time. Fromm’s educational thought of cultivating all-healthy man has a certain enlightenment and reference significance on the cultivation of all-healthy personality and adult education for the current education in our country.
