| The experimental designing ability is an essential element of the scientific inquiry abilities, but also an important part of the biology curriculum standards ability objectives. On the basis of analyzing biology experimental designing abilities, this study selects survey instrument to investigate senior school students’biology experimental teaching abilities and the skills affecting the ability, and accordingly put forward variable training strategy. On terms of theory, biology experimental teaching abilities training methods have been developed here, to provide front-line teaching for inspiration and reference.The study is composed of four parts. The first part, we establish "senior school students’biology experimental designing ability level test" to investigate the part of the province senior school students’biology experimental teaching abilities. Through the test, we find that the senior school students’biology experimental designing abilities are poor. Further we analyze the current research worldwide on biology experimental designing ability, and also put forward the content, meaning and methods of the study.The second part is study of the general theory of biology experimental design. By defining "biology experimental design" and "biology experimental designing abilities", and elaborating the basic content, principle, type of biology experimental design, clarifying the scale of the training of the biology experimental designing abilities. The task analysis theory provides theoretical foundation for the study of biology experimental designing ability. Developing the upper ability is building on mastering the lower skills, thus basing the theory, we analyze the components of the biology experimental designing ability.The most important of the study is the third and the fourth parts. According to analyzing the biology experimental designing ability in the second part, the third part selects abroad TIPS test to specifically assess the students’ the skills, and uses SPSS to analyze the relevance of the four skills and the biology experimental designing ability. Results indicate that there is a significant positive correlation between the four skills and the biology experimental designing ability; the students are not well mastered the skills, and the overall skill level is medium, the skills of asking question and formulating hypotheses are better, the skills of predicting results, identifying variables and the skills of operationally defining are general, the skills of designing experiment is poor; meanwhile among the skills are related. In addition, biology experimental designing ability and skill level exist on grade differences.On the basis of survey findings and the existing research, we are focusing on the skills training, strengthening the biology experimental designing ability training, optimizing the biology experimental designing ability evaluation the three aspects, we propose six implementation strategies to improve the teaching of biology experimental design. All these strategies aim at improving senior school students’biology experimental designing abilities and providing inspiration and advice for high school biology teaching. Finally, the study summarizes the problems and suggestions for future research. |
