The core idea of political system has changed from Autocracy to Democracysince human society enters the modern time. Democratic politics also turn into themost popular form of government and becoming better and better. The democraticconsciousness of citizens is the key to effectively implement of democracy, If citizensdo not have sense of democracy, then the so-called democratic political is just castlesin the air. High school phase is the critical period of forming the view of world, lifeand values. For the development of the country’s democracy, bringing up democraticconsciousness of high school students plays a vital role. History as a course showingthe progress of human civilization and promoting humanities has its own advantage incultivating students’ democratic consciousness.Its a favorable platform for democraticconsciousness.This paper is research for democratic consciousness education in high schoolhistory teaching. Firstly,the paper define he relevant concepts.then, Analysis for theconnotation of democratic consciousness, training status and combining historycourse content with democratic consciousness cultivation.On this basis,Proposed theeducation approach of democratic consciousness in history teaching and the problemshould be noted.In addition to the preface and epilogue,This paper is divided into five chapters.Details as follows:Chapter one,the education connotation of democratic consciousness in historyteaching.This chapter include analyzes and explain the connotation of democraticconsciousness education in high school history teaching. These concepts contains:equality consciousness, rights consciousness, duty consciousness.Chapter two, survey and analysis of democratic consciousness of high schoolstudents.The main content include survey the current situation of high school students’democratic consciousness with questionnaire, and analyses survey results.Chapter three, analysis of high school history textbooks content with democraticconsciousness.combining history course content with democratic consciousness cultivation after review Yuelu version history text book.Chapter four, the education approach of democratic consciousness in historyteaching, especially focus on teaching objectives, teaching methods, extracurricularactivities and teaching evaluation. Primary research object in teaching methods arenarrating, discussing and scene teaching. The research in extracurricular activitiesincludes democratic practice, democratic knowledge contest and history debate.Chapter five, attention problems of the education approach of democraticconsciousness in history teaching.pay main attention to teachers’ democraticconsciousness improvement, the bond between democratic consciousness andtraditional culture, avoiding unreasonable worship in western democracy.
