Patriotism is a spiritual pillar of national survival and development, and it is the coreof our national spirit as well. It has great cohesion and driving force. Patriotism is also asocial consciousness which coordinates the relationship between citizens and the statevalues, safeguards national unity. In education, patriotic education plays an important rolewhich can not be ignored, and patriotic education is a long and arduous work in collegemorality education. In the new situation in Xinjiang, the research on university patrioticeducation is of great theoretical and practical significance. Patriotic education on ethnicminority college students in Xinjiang is the need for building harmonious ethnic relationsand strengthening national unity. It also embodies the characteristics of China’s socialistmodernization, and has important strategic significance to the unity of our nation and theeconomic development."7.5","730" series of events occur constantly remind us, the patriotic education ofthe multi-ethnic region is a long-term and arduous work, should pay great attention.Xinjiang Higher education in patriotism must adhere to the guidance of the Marxist theoryof national unity as the use of basic methods of ideological and political education,combined with the specific regional situation in Xinjiang, to address specific issues of theUniversities of Xinjiang ethnic unity education to make patriotic education playits greatesteffect.The overall thesis is divided into six parts: The first part is the understanding of theconnotation of patriotism to distinguish between nationalism and patriotism differenttheoretical understanding on the basis of patriotism. The second part is for the specialregional situation in Xinjiang and southern Xinjiang specific cultural, environmentalstresses the importance of patriotism. The third part is Kashgar Teachers College as a caseshowing a Cameroon hospital patriotic education course. The fourth part is the introductionof Kashgar Teachers College patriotic education experience.The fifth section discusses theproblems and the reasons of Kashgar Teachers College patriotic education,at the sametime, The patriotic education in Colleges and Universities in South Xinjiang’s Problemsand reasons. Part VI feasibility of countermeasures based on the analysis of the problem,for colleges and universities in southern Xinjiang to further strengthen patriotic education.
