The experiment group adopts the Strategies-BasedInstruction (SBI) reading teaching model, while the control group still takes the traditionalteaching model. To make sure that there is no significant difference between the two groups, the pre-test and pre-training questionnaire are used for investigation before the training. Totest the effectiveness of this training project, the post test and post-training questionnaire arecarried out at the end of the training project. The project studies the effect of training on thestudents’ reading comprehension by means of analyzing the results of the test, questionnaire, employing quantitative approach. The data are statistically analyzed with Statistical Packagefor Social Sciences (SPSS19.0). The following conclusions are drawn from the study:Currently, most junior high school students pay little attention to English reading strategiesand lack the ability of using reading strategies flexibly; The training of English readingstrategies based on SBI can help students improve their reading comprehension. That is to say,SBI reading teaching model is applicable and effective in English reading teaching at thejunior high school level; Students’ awareness of using reading strategies can be developed bymeans of SBI. |
