As is well known, the research and practice of the integration of classroom teaching and information technology is becoming more popular and accepted. Since2009, curricula reform based on information technology has began in various schools in Hubei orovince. It is of great significance and importance to explore how to combine nformation technology and English teaching effectively. In addition, this research is boound to assist teachers with their teaching practice. Huang gang area is an advanced education city and is bestowed with great amounts of superior education resources. Consequently there is much sense in understanding the current situation of the integration of information technology and English instruction, and forming a proper prediction of the current provincial situation based on this understanding.This thesis can be roughly divided into four parts. The first part gives a brief introduction of the background, significance and purpose of this thesis; the second part demonstrates the methodology of this research. The author well combined theory and practice, quantitative research and qualitative research, and employed various methods such as literature research, field interview and questionnaire and so on in order to explore the situation from diverse levels; the third part reveals the detailed current situation of the integration of information technology and English instruction based on a specific case study. The author picked Wuxue Middle School, which is a pioneer and leader in information technology and secondary education as a case study to give the readers a vivid picture of the current specific situation; in the fourth part, the author reflects on this situation and put forward some tentative suggestions.
