These two classes are divided into experimental group and control group andeach group consists of41students. The control group still uses the traditional Englishlearning plan as teaching materials while the experimental class using the task-basedlearning plan.Through studying the analysis on the questionnaire, pre-test and post-test bySPSS statistical analysis software and the feedback collected from the interview, thefollowing conclusions can be drawn:1. In the task-based learning plan, the tasksrelated to the real life activities are designed according to different teaching materials. Thus, task-based teaching plans are not only suitable learning plans for students butalso the right teaching plans designed by the teachers which are based on thetask-based teaching method.2. The task-based learning plan helps the students learnEnglish autonomously and holds the distinguishing features of the English class. Itavoids the weakness of the traditional learning plan from the following several aspects:First, it creates the circumstances to learn English by the properly designed tasks inthe learning plan. Thus, it makes students feel more interested in English class and enables the students to know the fun and practical usage of learning English. Second,it solves the problem of lacking learning method in the application of the traditionallearning plan, which is one of the biggest shortcomings of the traditional learning planas it doesn’t pay much attention to teaching the students how to learn while asking thestudents to learn the knowledge autonomously. When using the task-based learningplan, the students try to do the tasks using the languages learned in class. During thisprocess, their listening, speaking, reading and writing skills are consolidated becausethe process itself is a good method to learn English.3. From the test results before andafter the experiment, we can see the experimental group’s scores in listening, reading, writing and language skills significantly are higher than the control group after usingthe task-based learning plan. So, compared with the traditional learning plan, thetask-based learning plan is much more beneficial to senior high school English class. |
