The vocational education has been placed on a more prominent place since the New Century, especially after the "Long-term Education Reform and Development Plan" in2010issued to. In this context, graduates of secondary vocational school continue to expand the scale. On the one hand, it provides many young people opportunities of receiving continued education and being good at something, on the other hand, it is also to lay the foundation for cultivating a large number of high-quality talents for the society. However, as the employment pressure increases, the secondary vocational student’s employment situation is very serious, which makes the secondary vocational schools use "employment" as their school goals in fact, only focus on the "employment" but ignore the "profession" in the course offering and the teacher’s teaching. That secondary vocational schools should be employment-based or career-based is a perplexing problem placed in front of secondary vocational schools.Depending on the advantage of working at the school, the author expects to research the status quo of secondary vocational school students’employment by using survey questionnaire and interview, which takes the Panzhihua Construction Engineering School that author works in as example. On the basis of that, the author analyzes and thinks about the status quo, then looking for solutions of the problems. The results of the research shows:secondary vocational school keeps high employment rate, also has some problems:the school pays attention to the employment, but its employment instruction is not perfect; employment based makes school pay much attention to skills training, but despise vocational education; the idea of parents affects the student’s employment.The author attempts to put forward some countermeasures for the current employment problems of secondary vocational education:attention should be paid to the students’employment, also should improve students’basic quality; the course is to point to students’employment, also should consider to the professional characteristics; to cultivate students’innovative consciousness, encourage independent business; to perfect employment guidance of schools.
