Independent Colleges have become an important part of China’s higher education systemafter decades of development."Education is the cornerstone of a strong country, which in turndepends on the quality of our teachers." High-quality educators are the core competitivenessresource of Independent College. How to appraise an educators’ performance is the key toimprove educators’ personal qualities and teaching abilities, and it is also a problem IndependentCollege facing.After visited several Independent Colleges in Hubei province together with my tutor,wefound that Independent College educators’ performance appraisal system emphasis work result,and this appraisal system results some serious problems. Analysis these problems we think thateducators’ performance appraisal should fully reflect the process of imparting knowledge andeducating people on the basis of priority to efficiency. In other words, educators’ performanceappraisal system must include two parts, one is work result appraisal another is work behaviorappraisal. In order to ease the problems caused by overemphasis work result and perfect currentperformance appraisal system, the focus of my research is establishing behavior appraisal systemfor Independent College educators.First, presents the background, purpose and significance of this research, proposes the trainof thought and main approaches. And introduces the development of Independent Collegeeducators’ appraisal, concludes the characteristic of educators’ appraisal in China, USA andEngland from content, approach and subject of appraisal based on a great deal of paper analysiswork. Second, survey combines with thesis research, analyzing features of Independent Collegeeducators’ performance appraisal and the main problems,and summarizing the cause ofproblems. Third, constructing work behavior appraisal system for Independent College educators.The main contents include that establishing the index system to appraise work behavior,choosing approach and subjects for the appraisal, and determining the appraisal cycle. And usethe research results to appraise educators’ work behavior performance of M IndependentCollege.
