Currently with the further advancement of quality-oriented education and new curriculum reform, much attention has been paid to students with learning difficulties(later short for SLD). How to convert SLD has becomes one of the most important tasks in the fundamentals education. Focus on and conversion of SLD has been the significant educational project facing the teachers of both middle and primary schools. The issue of SLD is especially salient in rural junior high schools,30%students with learning difficulties. But among them SLD in maths take lion’s share. As a maths teacher in rural junior high, I look into the issue, analyze the underlying cause and seek strategies to convert those students. Not only am I committed to education, but also I try to meet the challenge to adapt to quality-oriented education and reform junior high maths teaching. And SLD conversion is also the most important instructional measure to improve maths teaching quality. Meanwhile, it can provide some guidance for rural junior high maths teachers to carry out the new curriculum reform as well as offer some advice in performing the research on SLD in maths in rural junior high schools and converting them via education.This research is based on three rural junior high schools in Quxian county and from all SLD in maths100students are randomly selected as research subjects. Questionnaire is made in accordance with their family background, school education, students themselves and social influence. Interviews are made with their parents and maths teachers. All has been done to fully comprehend and analyze the underlying cause of SLD. Therefore, based on the analytic data, relevant conversion strategies are proposed:1. The basis for such conversion is built on schools’effort to transform SLD;2. The key to such conversion rests with teachers who are willing to show great concerns for SLD;3. The fulcrum for such conversion derives from the support from the society and the families.
