Nowadays, economic globalization is developing gradually with the developmentof society, and our world is gradually becoming an organic whole. The competitionbetween countries is becoming increasingly severe. Talent is the competitive power inthe rapid changing society, so the importance of education in this era is self-evident.In order to win in this competition, all countries are constantly deepening reform totheir education. The success of educational reform is depending on the improvementof teachers’ quality. Teachers play a crucial role to the development of the country’seducation, so more and more attention has been paid on teachers’ education.Consequently, teacher education is an important factor for education reform.Teachers’ education includes pre-service training and in-service training, and eachstage has its own management system.There are many similarities in teachers’ education between Korea and China.Through the elaboration of the history and present situation of elementary schoolteachers’ pre-service education in South Korea, analyzing its characters, this thesisaims to put forth some enlightenment to the elementary school teachers’ pre-serviceeducation development in our country. This thesis is divided into four chapters. Thefirst chapter elaborates the reasons for selecting the present study, the significances ofthe study as well as the research thought and methods used for the present study, andalso defines some important concepts. The second chapter analyzes the developmentof teachers’ education in Korea. Teachers’ education of Korea can be divided into twostages according to time, that is, the stage before liberation and after liberation. Thesocial background and teachers’ education development in each period is to beanalyzed, and then the characteristics of the development are to be summarized. Thethird chapter is about the current situation of Korean primary teachers’ pre-servicetraining. A case study of Seoul national university of education is to be made about itscurriculum and operation mode. The forth chapter are the characteristics of thedevelopment and the current curriculum of Korea primary school teachers’ education:The course goal is clear and simple; They pay much attention to basic courses and the professionalism; They are synthetic and practical; Combination of traditional cultureand modern civilization is emphsized; Attention is also paid to the cohesion with theprimary school curriculum; Reform is carried out through practice. At last, inspirationand reference is to be put forward after the comparison of teacher educationbetween the two countries.
