As a written language in ancient China, Classical Chinese is an important carrier of China’straditional culture,It Completely and orderly preserved the colorful and profound culture ofancient China, Learning classical Chinese can not only inherit and carry forward the finetraditional culture of the motherland, but also plays an important role on improving the students’cultural literacy. To the high school stage, the Classical Chinese contents increased dramaticallyin Chinese textbooks, In the college entrance examination, scores of Classical Chinese l reached18to22points. The Classical Chinese has become a very important part of high school Chineseteaching. But there are a lot of problems in the current of Classical Chinese teaching, such asstudents’ interest is not high, the teaching way is single rigid, the teaching content is narrow andso on. Many problems directly led to the Classical Chinese teaching inefficiency. Students areafraid of learning classical Chinese, the teachers have more headaches on Classical Chineseteaching, and Classical Chinese teaching is in an awkward position. With the development ofcurriculum reform, great changes have taken place in Chinese teaching field, but the reform ofclassical Chinese teaching has been small. In the new historical period, the teaching of classicalChinese historical mission is more and more important, classical Chinese are Crucial for reformof the teaching of classical model and to improve the students’ interest in learning.Based on thecharacteristics of classical Chinese and problems in the teaching, I think expanding reading inclassical Chinese teaching is very necessary.Expanding reading is to learn the text as the center, to read the related works and data,through reading of related works and information to promote students’ understanding of what thetext content. expanding reading is widely used in Chinese teaching, but mainly concentrated inthe modern literature. This research will expand the application method of expanding reading inhigh school of classical Chinese teaching, form a systematic theory and method system, andprovide the reference for teachers and students in high school. As a supplement to intensivereading and skimming, expanding reading expand their horizons, make knowledgesystematization, more three-dimensional, and more networks. In the comparison andcomplement and reconstruction of the acknowledge, the target text burst out beyond thesignificance and the brilliance of its own, so as to promote the students learn the text content of the understanding and grasp. Anyway, to apply to expanding reading in Classical Chineseteaching, can enrich the teaching content, change the teaching methods, enhance students’interest in learning, it has great significance on changing the plight of the Classical Chineseteaching in high school.the thesis can be divided into three parts: introduction, body and conclusion.In the introduction part,The research purpose, significance, research status quo weresummarized. The body consists five chapters.In the Chapter1,it contains the Interpretation ofexpanding reading related concept and theoretical basis. In the Chapter2,It analyzes the presentsituation of the application of expanding reading in high school and the Classical Chinesecontents in Chinese textbooks and the main features of Classical Chinese which Conform toexpanding reading. In the Chapter3,explains the role of expanding reading in the classicalteaching. The chapter4,according to the investigation and study analysis, work out effectiveexpanding reading strategies in classical Chinese teaching. The chapter5presents specific classteaching design. The conclusion part summarizes and come to the conclusion.
