Ideological And Political Education In Higher Institutions From Perspectives Of Socially Responsible Investment

Social responsibility events occur frequently in recent years, Corporate Social Responsibility has been increasingly brought to the attention of the people from all walks of life at home. Socially Responsible Investment is a kind of investment which based on the concept of social responsibility. It requires the enterprise also pays close attention to the fulfillment of Corporate Social Responsibility in the pursuit of maximum profit, focus on environment protection, social morality and public interests, etc. Since China’s reform and opening up, the economy has developed rapidly. It has brought the increasingly serious environmental and social problems, people have be progressively realized the importance of Corporate Social Responsibility. Therefore, it is of great significance to popularize the philosophy of Socially Responsible Investment in the process of building a harmonious society today.Corporate Social Responsibility is not a single enterprise topic. The government departments encourage enterprises to fulfill social responsibility by strengthening publicity, perfecting laws and regulations in order to protect stakeholders’rights and interests. However, separate administrative or legal measures are not sufficient to ensure enterprises’being good social citizens. The existence of social members must build relationships with the collective, society and others. Social members exist in social relations, they should be responsible for the collective, society in addition to their own. Social responsibility consciousness is the social members’awareness of correctly handling the relations and assuming social responsibilities, tasks and missions. This consciousness is just integrated into the Socially Responsible Investment and also applied to the enterprise development. College students are workforces who will make contributions to the national constructions in various fields when they step into society to take enterprise positions after all. Under the impact of global financial crisis, the domestic and foreign various thoughts on college students’ideology, and many events such as the social anxiety and panic in food and medicine and vulnerable buildings are endangering the society and public life. Ideological and Political Education in higher institute must advance with the times to penetrate Corporate Social Responsibility and Socially Responsible Investment education in at this complex moment. It seems that there is no intersection between Socially Responsible Investment and Ideological and Political Education in higher institute, but actually they have great correlation. Colleges and universities aim at cultivating talents with high sense of social responsibility who are also needed by enterprises. They have consistency on the goal and fit on the function. Socially Responsible Investment is an inner meaning of Ideological and Political Education in higher institute.The thesis explains the concepts and connotations of Corporate Social Responsibility and Socially Responsible Investment, and analyzes the status of the development of Corporate Social Responsibility. From perspectives of the times’ development, the mission of Ideological and Political Education and the correlation between the education and Socially Responsible Investment the thesis argues the necessity of Social Responsibility Investment’s integration into Ideological and Political Education in higher institute. At the same time, through summarizing practice experiences of Cambridge University’s and Stanford University’s emphasis on Corporate Social Responsibility education, combined with the questionnaire survey of ideological status of assuming Corporate Social Responsibility when they work in enterprises among college students in China, the thesis explores paths of intensifying Social Responsibility Investment education in Ideological and Political Education in higher institute from "investing" the project of Ideological and Political Education by updating concept, bringing Social Responsibility Investment education into the content system of Ideological and Political Education by keeping pace with the times, and carrying out the communication and integration between university culture and corporate culture by university-enterprise cooperation, etc.
