The student-oriented comprehensive and sustainable development is one of curriculumreform concepts. To get comprehensive development and scientific literacy increasement, itis necessary for students to devote themselves to learning actively. The boost of motivationalso promotes them study actively. Chemistry as one of the basic courses also contributes tostudents’ development. A problem chemistry teachers confronted is how to enhance studentslearning motivation effectively. In this paper, the factor of rural high school students’ learningmotivation is analyzed by observation, interview, questionnaire survey, and educationstatistics. The strategy of developing and stimulating their chemistry motivation is alsoexplored.The concept and theory of learning motivation was summarized by combination withteaching practice and reading a large number of related papers. After reading domestic relatedquestionnaire, the questionnaires of the rural high school students’ chemistry learningmotivation present situation and rural high school chemistry learning motivation factors werecarried out in no.1middle school of Hebei province.450high school students wereinvestigated. The statistics of the questionnaire was analyzed by Excel2007. The results are asfollows:1. chemistry learning motivation of rural high school students is good, but theachievement motivation is relatively low.2. The structure of chemistry learning motivation isreasonable.3. There is no significant difference in chemistry learning motivation of differentage and different gender student, but the chemistry learning motivation of different gradesstudents is different.4. The rural high school students have low self-efficacy, attribution ongrades tend to return because of unstable factors. Some punishment and praise has certaineffect on the chemical learning motivation inspiration. Teachers’ reasonable expectation ofstudents is also helpful.Based on the results of the survey and combining with the characteristics of studentslearning motivation theory to develop a new experimental teaching method. The chemicalexperiment, setting question situation, reasonable use of goal-directed, using a variety ofevaluation methods, the construction of a harmonious relationship between teachers andstudents, experience success, and the guidance of the learning strategies can inspire and cultivate the chemical learning motivation. This teaching experiment lasted for half a year. Acomparison of the present situation of rural high school students’ chemistry learningmotivation questionnaire and chemical performance is made before and after the experiment.The results indicated that the appropriate measure in the teaching can improve students’chemistry learning motivation to some extent. And, at the same time, it benefits theimprovement of the student’s chemistry study score.
