As a school system, private higher learning institutions with the development of30years have been a very important part of our higher education system since its birth in the1980s. It is very significant for the private higher learning institutions to establish and improve counselor excitation mechanism which could promote counselors work, provide better service for students and also improve the level of training.The school counselor team as an important force plays an important role in each period of development of the private higher learning institutions by reviewing its history. Unfortunately, the researches on the counselor excitation mechanism are little, which hinders the development of the school counselor team in the private higher learning institutions.We think it is necessary to research the school counselor excitation mechanism for improving the professional level of the school counselors in the private higher learning institutions, steadying the school counselor teams, improving their working ability and work efficiency. The research on the school counselor excitation mechanism in a new era will promote the development of private higher learning institutions.This thesis on the basis of a lot of documents and previous studies concludes the object of study named the Xi’an SiYuan College and some research methods such as comparative analysis, questionnaire, inductive analysis and the relative analysis about the problems of the school counselor excitation mechanism which are for the measures of establishment of excitation mechanism. The school counselor excitation mechanism based on the four parts like material needs, spiritual needs performance evaluation and career development will achieve best effects in the actual course of the private higher learning institution.
