Peer acceptance is one of the peer relationships, it is a unilateral structure aiming at group, reflecting the attitude that the group shows for individual:like or dislike, accept or reject. Peer relationship is a kind of interpersonal relationship that obtain common activity and cooperation relationships between children of the same age or similar psychological development level, which establishes and develops during the process of communication between peers. Different child’s peer relationship is different, every child’s peer acceptance level in the school is different, too. Some children are particularly popular, and some children are always rejected or ignored, peer acceptance is a significant indicator to measure young children’s social status in their companion group. As an important aspect of peer relationship, peer acceptance plays an important role in promoting children’s social cognition and social skills development, shaping children’s self-concept, meeting children’s needs. Especially preschool period, this stage is an important foundation period for the future development, because during this period peer acceptance plays a more important role in children’s personality and sociality development than any other period. In recent years, domestic and foreign scholars have done a lot of studies, which found that peer acceptance are affected by many factors, especially the impacts that social cognition pays on children’s peer acceptance are generally recognized, but correlation researches about social cognition and peer acceptance are less and single at home. Therefore, this study aims to explore the correlations between young children’s different social cognitive abilities at age5and peer acceptance on the basis of foreign researches. The completion of this study can enrich young children’s education theory and provide some advices for young children’s school education and family education in practice.This study explored the relationship between Social Cognition and Peer Acceptance of5-year-old Children through the combination of questionnaire and experiment. Children’s social intelligence measurement uses questionnaire method, sending67questionnaires to the teachers who have observed children for one entire school term, and67valid questionnaires are send back. Children’s empathy, theory of mind, language ability and peer acceptance measurement use experimental methods.67children selected randomly from Dalian city participated our research,66children are available,33boys and33girls, gender ratio is quite. Finally, correlation analysis and regression analysis are performed to explore the relationship of the children’s social cognition and peer acceptance.The results show that:(1) the interactions to peer acceptance between5years old children’s social intelligence, empathy, language ability, theory of mind are not significant;(2)the relations between5years old children’s social intelligence, empathy, theory of mind and peer acceptance are significant, predicting children’s peer acceptance successfully;(3)5 years old children’s social cognitive predictors of peer acceptance are different between girls and boys, the boy’s social intelligence can well predict their peer acceptance, and the girl’s language ability can well predict their peer acceptance;(4)Significant gender differences are found among5years old children’s empathy, social intelligence and peer acceptance, girls do better than boys.
