Since the20th century, the global environmental problems has emerged in endlessly, humans are faced with the challenge of a serious ecological crisis. Education is the root of environmental protection and environmental education is imminent. According to the present situation of China’s Compulsory Education,two important scientific approaches of environmental education in school is class teaching and extracurricular activities. Based on the characteristic of geography education and the theory of environmental education, as well as the study about Dawa Country’s environmental problems and the present situation of geography education in rural art high school, this thesis is to make the most advantages of geography subject in the school environmental education and explore the effective ways of geography environment education in rural high school. With the advantages of Dawa Country’s rich environmental resources, the author mentions to investigate the new method of environmental education in the social practice activities.This paper mainly has four parts. The first part is a summary of this research, mainly about the background of the research and the research status at home and abroad as well as the research design. The second part introduces the basic concepts and theories of this research. The third part introduces the natural geography, landscape resource and tourism development situation of Dawa Country, and analyzes the present situation of the environmental education, summarizes the environmental education problems in rural art school. The fourth part is the key part of this research, studies the contents about environmental education in geography teaching materials, to explore new teaching methods of environment education with the local environmental problems and the specialty of art students. The fifth part is conclusion.
